Benevolence Committee:
"Feeding the Hungry"

The Benevolence Committee of Saint John's is a working committee
with rewarding results. The committee, in conjunction with our
neighbor, Saint Paul's on the Plains Episcopal Church, works with
people in need.
Each Tuesday afternoon at 1:30, about 20 trained volunteers of
the two churches get together to assist those who come to the
church for food. The churches, through donations from members and
others, distribute food vouchers purchased from the South Plains
Food Bank.
There are many opportunities offered to our clients for
assistance in other areas, such as: health screening when
available, job opportunities and educational encouragement, with
referrals to other agencies as needed.
Food Pantry
St. John's Emergency Food Pantry is available to the hungry of
Lubbock who are not eligible for a Food Voucher or are in an
emergency food situation. The pantry is supported by St. John's
congregation, St. Paul on the Plains Episcopal Church, the Golden K
Kiwanis Club and others.
St. John's Emergency Food Pantry is stocked with non-perishable
canned and dry foods.
Donations are always welcome!
