Advent is almost here, and we’d love for you to celebrate it with us. We offer the following opportunities during Advent:

December 1-21

Each year, St. John’s has a Tree of Warmth set up in the Garden Room. We invite you to help decorate it with socks, gloves, hats, scarves, blankets, or coats, which will be given out to those in the community who are in need of some warmth this season. Donations are welcome until December 21 can can be dropped off during business hours or Sunday mornings.

December 2

Join St. John’s for caroling on Sunday, December 2! We’ll meet at the church at 5:00 p.m., divide into teams, and then go caroling around the neighborhood. Around 6:30 p.m. carolers (and those who aren’t up for braving the cold) are invited back to the church to enjoy cookies, cocoa, and camaraderie!  This event is open to the public so invite your friends and family.

December 7

Join us at St. John’s on Friday, December 7, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for a finals week de-stressing event. We will have food trucks in our lot including Now We Taco’N, Urban Fixx, and Wafflin. We will be giving away a FREE lunch to three lucky people so head to our Facebook page for more information.

December 9

Come join us to hear Vivaldi’s masterful setting of the text which was first sung by the angels who announced Christ’s birth. This joyful and uplifting work will be a wonderful way to begin your Christmas season. Presented by the St. John’s Chancel Choir with a  chamber orchestra on Sunday, December 9, 10:30 a.m. Invite your friends to this special service! There will be a church potluck after service so bring your favorite dish to share.

December 21

For some, the holidays are not “the most wonderful time of the year.” We know that some people are feeling sad, lonely, and just downright blue. Those experiencing pain, loneliness, grief, sadness, and everything in between are invited to join us for a special service of hope this holiday season. Our service will be held Friday, December 21st at 6:30 p.m. Free of charge and open to the public. Everyone is welcome!

December 24

Join us for two traditional candlelight Christmas Eve services at St. John’s. Service times will be at 5:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. and include communion. Free of charge and open to the public!
